Free Migration for Business & Enterprise Plans
All customers on our Business and Enterprise plans receive complimentary full-service migration. Our engineers will transfer everything from your current host — website files, databases, email accounts, and DNS configuration — so you don't have to lift a finger.
Starter plan customers can request assisted migration at a one-time fee, or follow our self-service guide below.
How It Works
Contact Us
Email admin@hostingsloth.com with your migration request. Let us know your current hosting provider, number of websites, and email accounts to be migrated.
Provide Access
Share your current hosting control panel credentials (cPanel, Plesk, etc.) securely with our team. We'll also need access to your domain registrar if DNS changes are required.
We Migrate Everything
Our engineers will transfer your website files, databases, email accounts, and configurations to your new Hosting Sloth account. We work during off-peak hours to minimise any disruption.
Testing & Verification
Before switching DNS, we'll provide you with a temporary URL to verify everything is working correctly on our servers. Take your time to check every page and email account.
Go Live
Once you're satisfied, we'll update your DNS records to point to our servers. Propagation typically takes 4–24 hours. Your old host should remain active during this period as a safety net.
What We Migrate
- Website Files — All HTML, CSS, JS, images, and other static files
- Databases — MySQL / MariaDB databases with full data integrity
- CMS Installations — WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and other platforms
- Email Accounts — All mailboxes, forwarders, and filters
- Email Messages — Existing inbox content (IMAP accounts)
- SSL Certificates — Transfer existing or provision new free SSL
- DNS Configuration — Recreate your DNS records on our nameservers
- Cron Jobs — Scheduled tasks and automated scripts
Self-Service Migration Guide
If you prefer to handle the migration yourself, here's a general outline:
- Sign up for a Hosting Sloth plan and log in to your new cPanel
- Download a full backup from your current host (cPanel → Backups → Full Backup)
- Upload and restore the backup in your new cPanel, or manually upload files via FTP
- Export your databases from the old host and import them via phpMyAdmin on the new host
- Update database connection strings in your website configuration files if the credentials have changed
- Create your email accounts in the new cPanel and migrate messages using an IMAP client
- Test your site using the temporary URL or by editing your local hosts file
- Update your domain's nameservers to point to Hosting Sloth's DNS
Migration FAQ
Will there be any downtime?
We aim for zero downtime migrations. During DNS propagation (4–24 hours), visitors may intermittently see either the old or new server — both will be serving your site, so there's no disruption.
How long does migration take?
Most migrations are completed within 24–48 hours. Larger sites or complex setups may take slightly longer. We'll keep you informed throughout the process.
Should I cancel my old hosting immediately?
No. We recommend keeping your old hosting active for at least 7 days after the migration is complete, to ensure DNS has fully propagated and everything is working perfectly.
